He’s fought for us, now let’s FIGHT FOR WES!!!!
Wes Walker was born July 22nd 1983 to Bart and Shae Walker. Wes has always been a charismatic, positive, hard working guy who would do anything for anyone. Wes was a high school track star for Payson High School, and after high school served an LDS mission in Argentina. Upon returning Wes met and married his beautiful wife Marcea. They have two adorable little girls, Brea and McKenna. Wes is an assistant track coach at Salem Hills High School and an ER Tech at Mountain View Hospital. Wes is also an avid dirtbiker. Participating in desert and endurocross races whenever he can. Wes has firefighting in his blood. In 2004 Wes started with Payson Fire and Ambulance becoming a fourth generation firefighter in his family. Wes became a full time firefighter for South Jordan in 2007. Wes has established himself as a Firefighter/EMT-I who is well known for getting himself “into the thick of things”. When the UVU plane crashed, Wes was first on scene. When Payson had the largest traffic accident in Utah County history, he transported the most critical patient, who is alive today. When the mountain near Spring Lake caught on fire forcing residents to evacuate, he charged into the flames saving the homes of people he did not know. Wes is a hero. If you live in South Jordan or Payson, odds are high that Wes saved or helped someone you know directly. Wes has fought for us, and now it is time for us to fight for him.
On Saturday June 30th, Wes was involved in a dirtbike accident that shattered his right tib/fib and snapped his femur in half. Wes went in for surgery on his leg, and afterwards did not wake up. It has been determined that Wes has Fat Embolism Syndrome, common in long bone fractures, but not normally this severe. Essentially little fat emboli entered his blood stream at the site of his fractures and from there travelled to his brain, producing stroke like effects.
PLEASE pray hard for Wes and his family and if possible make a donation.
A fund has been set up at Zions Bank in the name of “Weston Walker Donation” to accept donations for the Walker family.
